FOR MVC/OVC EAST AFRICAN COMMUNITIES.

Mostly among African death of children are caused by malaria, where a child dies every minute from malaria. Malaria is preventable and curable. Increased malaria prevention and control measures are dramatically reducing the malaria burden in many places.( world Health organisation Report 2010).

According to UNICEF, “Children orphaned by HIV/AIDS are disadvantaged in numerous and often devastating ways. In addition to the trauma of witnessing the sickness and death of one or both parents, they are likely to be poorer and less healthy than non-orphans. They are more likely to suffer damage to their cognitive and emotional development”.

KOFS provides free medical care for over 200 children Communities.

KOFS in its five year development plan have drafted a project to open up a site health centre that provides the vulnerable families and poor communities with basic medical care.

The Health Centre will be located in Kawanda community Nabweru sub county in wakiso district of central Uganda.

How you can help us provide Healthcare:

The proposed Health centre will cost $400,000.

KOFS, and well wishers we can provide poor families with treated mosquito net in addition, to prevent malaria or provide free tests , guidance and counseling to young people especially when a child displays symptoms that could be malaria and if the test is positive treatment is started immediately.

Knowing that they will be helped when they are sick brings a tremendous relief to poor communities where vulnerable families cannot afford to buy medicine.
